That's a bit of an ambiguous question. I've had telephone interviews before, and a couple of office interviews. The format is always different. Some companies just want a warm body, and if you have experience that will do. Usually you get in by being known by somebody else. Some other companies like to program their employees, so they look for young intellectuals that they can manipulate (and pay terrible money). WesternGeco are just laying off people at the moment (so I hear on the grapevine)...
Thank you very much for the answer!
I have an interview at PGS next week, and no experience in the field, but a master degree in engineering, so I wonder how does the technical interview look like? since there is no specific degree or diploma needed for this jobs
Thank you in advance!

can you tell me anything about the safety course?
and also if you could tell me, when you work on a seismic vessel, do you have your schedule for the whole year?
have you ever had to wait for more than 5 weeks to be on board in between missions?
thanks in advance!

Sorry I've not checked this for a while. Normal BOSIET (do a google search) is minimum requirement. I would suggest doing the Norwegian chute training as it is only a little bit more. Depending on how established the seismic company is, you will normally get a crew change schedule for the coming year, though that is obviously dependent on operations.
